Die Empty, Live Full
Scripture:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
— 2 Timothy 4:7 (ESV)
Devotion:
When Paul said he had fought, finished, and kept the faith, he wasn’t bragging — he was testifying. He knew he had nothing left to give. His life had been poured out as an offering, fully spent for Jesus.
That’s the kind of life we’re called to live — a life poured out, not stored up.
Mary understood this. She brought her most valuable possession — a jar of pure nard — and broke it open at Jesus’ feet. While others criticized her for “wasting” it, Jesus said,
"She has done a beautiful thing... she has anointed me for burial." (Mark 14:6–8)
She didn’t hold back. She gave it all.
That’s the invitation today: to live poured out. Not for applause. Not for legacy. But for love.
You were never meant to leave this life full of unused gifts, withheld forgiveness, or unspoken truth. You were made to live and die empty of self and full of Christ.
Prayer Focus:
Lord, I want to give You everything. Like Mary, I don’t want to calculate my offering — I want to break the jar. Let my life carry a fragrance of surrender that fills the room.
Help me live in a way that nothing is wasted and nothing is withheld.
Prayer Points:
🔹 Lord, show me what I’ve been saving that You’re calling me to pour out.
🔹 Help me break the jar of comfort, fear, or self-preservation.
🔹 Let my life release a fragrance of worship that points others to You.
🔹 Teach me to spend my days building eternal things, not temporary gain.
🔹 I choose to die empty — fully spent, fully surrendered, fully faithful.
🔹 Make me like Paul and Mary — remembered not for what I had, but for what I gave.
