A Thankful Heart

In times where the world seems to be moving fast we wait on you.

When the cry of our hearts yearns for answers, we wait on you.

Then you draw near and our search turns to thankfulness.

We thank you in the waiting, in the hours of no understanding, for you are still there.

You walk us through our sorrows and our griefs.

You shelter us from every storm even when we don’t see you.

Comfort comes from your presence, your rest, as we draw near.

Gratefulness arises as we witness your ways, struck by your goodness, your continuous mercies.

Oh how you provide for us Lord God.

Every need we have you supply.

There is no lack for your children because of your great love.

May we awaken with a thankful heart day unto day.

May we exalt the one true and living God, master above all.

Our lips spring forth praises for the richness and beauty of your faithfulness.

Gone are the days of want, of wishing for more.

You fill our hearts with longing, for a peace that cannot be described.

How can we thank you enough for the countless ways you care for us.

You are too beautiful for words, so wise so understanding.

May our hearts rejoice in the knowledge of you, perfect, in all your ways.

Bring to our remembrance all the wonders you have done for us.

Let us never forget the promises you have made toward us

How can we list all you have done? They are two numerous for words.

May today we lift up our hearts to you honoring the most high, the keeper are very souls.

May we relish in your goodness and take pleasure in your nearness.

Consume us this day in the bounty of your closeness

May we truly walk with a thankful heart, knowing you as you know us.

To the honor of the keeper of all grace, the master of our hearts, and to the union of heaven and earth, the Lord Jesus Christ
