Day 7 — “A Living Sacrifice”
Scripture:
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Romans 12:1 (ESV)
Devotional Thought:
This first week of prayer and fasting has been about surrendering the flesh and allowing God to do a deeper work within us. As appetites are quieted and habits are confronted, the Lord begins to shape us into people who are fully yielded to Him.
Offering ourselves as a living sacrifice is not about striving for perfection — it is about daily surrender. It is choosing to place our lives on the altar again and again, trusting God to transform us from the inside out. What once demanded our attention no longer defines us. What the Spirit desires begins to lead us.
Fasting has exposed areas where the flesh once ruled, but it has also created space for renewal. God is not only removing old patterns; He is renewing our minds, realigning our desires, and establishing new ways of living that reflect His will.
Today is a day to pause and acknowledge what God has already done this week. It is a moment to recommit ourselves to the journey ahead — trusting that the work God has begun will continue as we remain surrendered.
Prayer Focus:
Thank the Lord for the work He has done in your heart this week
Ask God to continue transforming your mind and desires
Surrender your body, habits, and thoughts to the Lord again
Commit yourself fully to God’s purposes and direction
Prayer:
“Lord, I offer myself to You again today. I place my life on the altar as an act of worship. Continue the work You have begun in me. Transform my mind, align my desires with Yours, and lead me in Your ways. I belong to You. Amen.”
