Cleansing the Temple

Weekly Prayer Focus – Holy Week

"Fix our eyes on Jesus, the Lamb who was slain and the King who is risen. Teach us to walk in the power of the cross and the beauty of the resurrection."

This Holy Week, we set our hearts on the final days of Jesus' earthly ministry—the betrayal, the cross, the tomb, and the glorious resurrection.
We pray to be a people who:

  • Love sacrificially like Jesus on the road to Calvary,

  • Endure faithfully in the face of suffering,

  • Intercede with boldness for the lost,

  • Stand in awe at the foot of the cross,

  • And rejoice with resurrection hope that transforms how we live.

Let every prayer this week bring us closer to the Lamb of God—who took our place, bore our sin, conquered the grave, and calls us to follow Him.

Scripture

Matthew 21:12–13 (NLT)
"Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, 'The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!'"

Devotion

On the first day after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus didn’t go to the palace—He went straight to the temple.
He didn’t cleanse the streets—He cleansed His Father’s house.
Before the cross, before the tomb, before the resurrection—He purified the place of prayer.

This is where Holy Week starts for us too. Before we reflect on the sacrifice, before we celebrate the resurrection, the Spirit invites us to let Jesus clean house—to drive out compromise, spiritual distraction, and religious performance.

He’s looking for a place where His presence dwells. A place of purity, not profit. A house of prayer, not pretense.

And we are the temple now.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask the Lord to reveal anything in your heart that needs to be cleansed—offense, pride, hidden sin, or distraction.

  • Pray that your life and your home would become a house of prayer and worship.

  • Intercede for the Church to return to holiness and spiritual purity.

  • Ask God to make Harvest Revival Center a place of presence, not performance.

Declaration

Lord, begin with me.
Tear down what is counterfeit and restore what is holy.
Make my heart Your temple again.
Let this be a house of prayer—not just on paper, but in power.
