Living Set Apart
1 John 5:4–5 (ESV)
“For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
Devotion:
We’re not just called to survive this world—we’re called to overcome it. This means we don’t adopt its values, live by its standards, or chase its approval. Faith in Jesus marks us as different. The moment you were born again, you were marked as an overcomer—not because of your strength, but because of your faith.
Faith isn’t passive belief. It’s bold allegiance. It means we trust Jesus enough to live by His Word—even when it costs us. Even when it separates us. Even when the culture mocks us.
Victory over the world means walking in the truth when lies are popular. It means keeping your oil full when others are sleeping. It means living for the eternal when everyone else is chasing the temporary.
Prayer Focus:
Pray today for steadfast faith—to remain unshaken in a world full of compromise. Ask the Lord to raise up a Church that doesn’t blend in but stands out. Pray that believers across our nation would walk boldly in holiness, speak truth with love, and remain faithful to Jesus when the pressure to conform is strong.
