Church On Fire | Week 7: The Fear of the Lord
What does it truly mean to fear the Lord? In Week 7 of our Church on Fire series, we continue through the book of Acts and look at the dramatic contrast between Barnabas and Ananias and Sapphira. Acts 4 shows a Spirit-filled church marked by unity, grace, generosity, and surrendered hearts.
But Acts 5 reveals the danger of hypocrisy and attempting to maintain an outward appearance while hiding what is really happening in the heart.
The fear of the Lord is not living terrified of God. It is recognizing His holiness, taking His presence seriously, and coming before Him with honesty, reverence, and complete surrender. God sees beyond the appearance. He knows the heart. And His conviction is an invitation to repentance, restoration, and holiness.
