From a young age, Roberts Liardon was destined to become one of the most well-known Christian authors and orators of his generation. To date, he has sold more than 16 million books worldwide that have been translated into 60+ international languages. Roberts has ministered in 127 countries, both to the multitudes and to world leaders. He is recognized internationally and has experienced great success as a revivalist, an inspirational speaker, an author, and a church historian.
Roberts Liardon was born in 1966 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the first male child born to a student of the newly launched Oral Roberts University. His career in the ministry began at the young age of 12½ when he gave his initial public address. At age 17, Liardon published his first book, I Saw Heaven, in which he related his experience of going to Heaven as a young boy. The book catapulted Roberts into the public eye and sold more than 1.5 million copies. Over the next few years, he became one of the leading public speakers in the Christian community all over the world.
When Roberts was 12½ years old, Jesus appeared to him in a vision and told him to study the great preachers — to learn both of their successes and failures. From that day on, Roberts began to devote himself to this study. This lifelong pursuit has established him as a leading Protestant Church historian, a role he carries with honor to this day.
The day came when God spoke further to Roberts about writing and producing both a DVD series and a book series entitled “God's Generals.” The original mission was to chronicle the lives of some of the leading Pentecostal and Charismatic leaders so the Body could learn from both their successes and failures. The DVD series was an immediate success and became one of the bestselling Christian DVD series in the history of Christian media. The “God’s Generals” book series is an ongoing assignment that also found a worldwide reading audience that has continued to grow over the years.
In 1990, Roberts Liardon moved to Southern California and founded his worldwide headquarters in Orange County. There he and his team founded Embassy Christian Center and Spirit Life Bible College, both of which became among the largest and most influential in the region.
In 2007, Roberts moved his ministry headquarters to Sarasota, Florida, where it is currently located. In 2009, he accepted the position as principal of the International Bible Institute of London, the training arm of the Kensington London City Church, a position he held for five years as an assignment from God to help further His plans and purposes for the United Kingdom and Europe.
Roberts Liardon continues to speak to this generation in pulpits across the United States and around the world. He also produces his own online courses, where he teaches on God’s Generals and other key Bible truths necessary to strengthen the Body of Christ for this critical hour we live in.
