You Were Chosen

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

—John 15:16 (ESV)

Devotion:

You were not saved by chance—you were chosen on purpose, for a purpose. Jesus made it clear: He did the choosing. And not just to save you, but to send you. He appointed you to bear lasting fruit. That means your life carries weight in the Kingdom.

Too often, people think purpose is only for pastors or public figures. But the truth is: Heaven’s assignment is etched over your life. Whether you’re a mother, teacher, builder, student, or retiree—God placed you where you are for a reason. Living on purpose starts when you stop asking, “What’s my calling?” and start declaring, “Lord, I’m available today.” Purpose is revealed in surrender, confirmed in obedience, and fulfilled in daily faithfulness.

Prayer Focus:

  • Thank God that you were chosen by Him for a purpose that matters.

  • Pray for clarity and boldness to walk in the calling He’s placed on your life.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to awaken every gift, talent, and assignment that’s been lying dormant.

  • Declare that this week, you will not waste your days—you will walk with intentionality and bear fruit that remains.
