The Storms Of Life

Lord, what are the storms of life to you?

They are like crossroads to you.

They come, and they move into our lives yet you are always near.

Oh how our hearts fail with fear in the midst of the storm.

But you God Almighty, calm the storms with the sound of your voice.

You who overcome the tossing of the waves within us.

Such turmoil Lord, yet you still the seas and calm the tide of doubt within us.

Great are you God in your mercies?

Peace is a soothing balm to our souls, it settles the roaring sounds and the chaos within our hearts.

Oh that you would speak in the loudness of the darkness within.

It is like a sound of thunder and a rumbling with our very being.

Who can still the sounds of the enemies of our very being but you mighty King.

Take us to that quiet place where you reside, where the world is

forgotten.

The place where times stand still, and all there is, is your presence.

Peace reigns where you are, love minds cannot comprehend.

Take us into your holy place where you await.

There is no place better than in your presence.

Truly, you are wondrous,you are life itself.

May we come rest beside you and drink of your goodness, inhale the beauty of you.

May we cast off all that keeps us from the closeness that we long for.

You are life longing for us, may we keep our hearts strong and steady for you?

May we not turn away from what you are drawing us into.

You say come fly with me.

May we fly into your beauty and dwell in your countenance.

There we will find what eternity is all about.
