Weekly Prayer Focus: Choosing to Forgive

"Lord, teach us to live by mercy, not offense. We choose to forgive as You have forgiven us."
This week, we walk the Mercy Road. We’re laying down bitterness, releasing every offense, and asking the Holy Spirit to make us a people marked by forgiveness. We are praying for personal healing, spiritual freedom, restored relationships, and a church—and a nation—that operates by the mercy of the cross.

Scripture

Matthew 18:33 (NLT)
"Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?"

Devotion

Mercy is where it all begins.

Jesus told a parable about a servant who was forgiven an unpayable debt—yet immediately went out and refused to forgive someone who owed him very little. It’s not just a story about injustice; it’s a mirror for every heart that forgets what it’s been forgiven of.

In the Kingdom of God, mercy isn’t weakness—it’s power. The cross didn’t cancel justice; it fulfilled it with compassion. When we cling to mercy, we unlock heaven’s flow in our own lives. When we refuse, we block it.

We don’t forgive because people deserve it—we forgive because we’ve been forgiven. When mercy is our starting point, healing follows. And today, we’re returning to that place—kneeling before the cross, remembering the mercy poured out for us, and choosing to pass it on.

Prayer Focus

  • Thank God for the mercy He’s shown you.

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to restore the awe of your salvation.

  • Pray for a heart that releases offense and remembers grace.

  • Intercede for those in the church still holding bitterness—that mercy would win in every heart.

Declaration

I have been forgiven much, so I will forgive much.
Mercy is my response. Grace is my position.
I choose to walk the Mercy Road—free, healed, and unoffended.
